Portfolio valuation and negotiation

Embedded value, adjusted net asset value, brokerage portfolios

The firm assesses what a portfolio or a company is worth: embedded value and value of new business for an insurer or a mutual, adjusted net asset value, multiples of commissions and earnings for a brokerage firm, value of a portfolio of contracts in the event of a transfer or sale.

The valuation serves a negotiation: the firm conducts it for the seller, for the buyer or, at the request of both parties, as joint expert tasked with setting a value accepted by each. It attends negotiation meetings and documents the assumptions that make the difference in price.
